Make Love with Robots?
Canadian scientists from Manitoba University have concluded that in the future the number of people who prefer to make love with sex robots will increase. For this, they will use virtual reality.
Researchers state that the era of immersion in virtual sex has already come. And as the technologies in this direction are developing rapidly, more and more users will start using them, as a result of which there will appear a whole layer of so-called digisexuals – people for whom sex will not be possible without digital technologies.
Such people will prefer not real people, but sex robots and augmented reality. At the same time, robots will be able to fully satisfy those sex needs.
The researchers identified two waves of digital sex. The first is when technologies can be used to meet sexual needs with other people. For this purpose, both instant messengers and online video games programs were used. We already experienced the first wave, now it’s time for the second wave, related with robots.
Among the problems that digisexuals may encounter, researchers identify feelings of guilt and shame for their addictions, worsening relations with a human partner, even separation or divorce, and a decrease in sexual interest in other people. In addition, sex robots – an expensive pleasure. Nowadays, robotic sex dolls are being sold for in excess of £ 15.000.
However, according to the professor of robotics and artificial intelligence Noel Sharkey from the University of Sheffield, although in the future people will start using sex robots more massively, this phenomenon will not become too widespread.
